Brownies
Tara's Favorite Brownies
Prep. 20 Min. Bake: 25-30min. Oven: 350 degrees F Makes: 16 servings.
Ingredients:
- 8oz semisweet chocolate (I use semisweet chocolate chips)
- 3 TBSP butter
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/3 cup water
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a 8x8 pan* with foil so that it extends half way up the pan sides. Grease foil. Set pan aside.
- In a large sauce pan cook and stir the chocolate and butter over low heat until chocolate and butter melts. Remove from heat and let cool.
- Meanwhile; In a large mixing bowl beat the eggs with an electric mixer on medium speed until foamy Add the sugar, water, and vanilla; beat for 5 minutes of until mixture is thick and lemon colored. Beat in cooled chocolate mixture. Stir in flour, baking powder, and salt until completely combined.
- Pour mixture into prepared pan.
- Bake in preheated oven for 25-30 min. or until edges of the brownies start to just pull away from the sides of the pan.
* I like my brownies a wee bit undercooked and thick, but you can use a 13x9x2 inch pan if you prefer your brownies that way. I have never tried this recipe that way so you'll need to watch those brownies when their cooking; Maybe cook them for 45min.
