Brownies

Tara's Favorite Brownies

Prep. 20 Min. Bake: 25-30min. Oven: 350 degrees F Makes: 16 servings.

Ingredients:

  • 8oz semisweet chocolate (I use semisweet chocolate chips)
  • 3 TBSP butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a 8x8 pan* with foil so that it extends half way up the pan sides. Grease foil. Set pan aside.
  2. In a large sauce pan cook and stir the chocolate and butter over low heat until chocolate and butter melts. Remove from heat and let cool.
  3. Meanwhile; In a large mixing bowl beat the eggs with an electric mixer on medium speed until foamy Add the sugar, water, and vanilla; beat for 5 minutes of until mixture is thick and lemon colored. Beat in cooled chocolate mixture. Stir in flour, baking powder, and salt until completely combined.
  4. Pour mixture into prepared pan.
  5. Bake in preheated oven for 25-30 min. or until edges of the brownies start to just pull away from the sides of the pan.

 

* I like my brownies a wee bit undercooked and thick, but you can use a 13x9x2 inch pan if you prefer your brownies that way. I have never tried this recipe that way so you'll need to watch those brownies when their cooking; Maybe cook them for 45min.
