Phrynoaoma Douglassi

This is a Phrynosoma Douglassi
aka
Short Horned Lizard (toad)

Josiah found it in our backyard today.
I love it when nature comes into our backyard in the city.

If we had caught it, it would have become flat and rigid
and would have flopped on its back
and possible would have squirted blood from it's eyes!

Oh and it eats ants and not people.
